To start, she applies a few coats of her favorite mascara to give lashes an initial boost and to create a wet base for the cotton to stick to. Then, she uses a spoolie (an eyebrow brush can work just as well for this step) to pull out small bits of cotton and comb it along the tips of her lashes.
